Pray like a Saint

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

O my God, I am heartily sorry from my whole heart for all my sins,
and I detest them,
because in sinning I have not only deserved the punishments justly appointed by Thee,
but most of all because I have offended Thee, the supreme Good,
and worthy to be loved above all things.

Therefore I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace,
to sin no more,
and to flee the near occasions of sin.

O Lord God, with firm faith I believe and confess
each and all the things which the holy Catholic Church proposes,
because Thou, O God, hast revealed them all,
Thou who art eternal truth and wisdom,
which can neither deceive nor be deceived.

In this faith I resolve to live and to die.

O Lord God, I hope by Thy grace
for the pardon of all my sins,
and after this life to attain everlasting happiness,
because Thou hast promised it,
Thou who art infinitely powerful, faithful, kind, and merciful.

In this hope I resolve to live and to die.

O Lord God, I love Thee above all things,
and my neighbour for Thy sake,
because Thou art the highest, the infinite, and most perfect Good,
worthy of all love.

In this charity I resolve to live and to die.

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy,
our life, our sweetness, and our hope.
To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve.
To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.

Turn then, most gracious Advocate,
thine eyes of mercy toward us.
And after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known
that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided.

Inspired with this confidence,
I fly to thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother;
to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful.

O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions,
but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

We fly to thy patronage, O holy Mother of God;
despise not our petitions in our necessities,
but deliver us always from all dangers,
O glorious and blessed Virgin.

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins,
save us from the fires of hell,
lead all souls to heaven,
especially those in most need of Thy mercy.

O saving Victim, opening wide
The gate of heaven to man below;
Our foes press on from every side,
Thine aid supply, Thy strength bestow.

To Thy great name be endless praise,
Immortal Godhead, One in Three;
Oh, grant us endless length of days
In our true native land with Thee.

The Bread of Angels becomes the Bread of men;
the Bread of heaven puts an end to all the figures;
O wondrous thing! the Lord is eaten
by the poor, the servant, and the lowly.

O Godhead, Three and One, of Thee we ask:
visit us in such wise as we give Thee worship;
lead us along Thy paths to where we strive to go,
unto the light wherein Thou dwellest.

Angel of God, my guardian dear,
to whom His love commits me here,
ever this day be at my side,
to light and guard, to rule and guide.

Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle;
be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil.

May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host,
Satan and the other wicked spirits,
who wander through the world for the ruin of souls,
by the power of God, thrust down into hell.

Now thou dost dismiss thy servant, O Lord,
according to thy word in peace;

because my eyes have seen thy salvation,
which thou hast prepared before the face of all peoples:
a light to the revelation of the Gentiles,
and the glory of thy people Israel.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May they rest in peace.
